FootLok Strap

The FootLok Strap features an adjustable External Ligament™ design that offers superior forefoot control . It functions like a “suspension bridge” to support weak tendons and soft tissue in the foot .

The strap’s unique characteristic is its dual-function versatility. When positioned on the lateral (outside) side of the foot, it supports and protects the lateral ligaments and peroneal tendons . When positioned medially (inside), it supports the plantar fascia or the posterior tibial tendon . This adjustability allows the strap to act as an “external ligament,” mimicking the function of damaged tendons to provide targeted support and pain relief .

While the FootLok Strap itself is an accessory, it is a key component that allows the TriLok ankle brace to treat a range of conditions. It is effective for providing support for ankle sprains and protecting against “rolling” the ankle .

Additionally, it is indicated for chronic conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis and Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD), which is associated with fallen arches . When positioned on the inside of the foot, the strap lifts the arch to relieve stress and pain .

The FootLok Strap is used in conjunction with the TriLok’s undersleeve and a stirrup strap to create a comprehensive three-part strapping system . The undersleeve provides compression to manage swelling and keep the components in place, while the stirrup strap adds lateral stability .

Together, these components allow for precise adjustment of support based on the user’s activity level . The brace’s low-profile design allows for a normal range of motion and fits comfortably inside most shoes .
