IontoPatch

The IontoPatch is a wireless, battery-free, single-use iontophoresis patch designed to deliver medication through the skin for targeted pain relief. Unlike traditional iontophoresis systems that require bulky wires, charging stations, or external controllers, it is self-contained and portable. Once a clinician applies medication to the patch and places it on the patient, the patient is free to leave the clinic and resume normal activities. The patch delivers a precise, pre-set dosage automatically and shuts off when complete. It is made of flexible, breathable material with an active area of 12.0 cm² and is designed to treat most anatomical areas, including elbows, knees, wrists, feet, and shoulders. Each box contains 6 complete treatment kits (each kit includes a patch, saline vial, and alcohol prep pad).

This product  comes in 3 different versions: Iontopatch 80, Iontopatch STAT and Iontopatch Extra Strength.

 Differences Between the Three IontoPatch Variations

While all three patches use the same wireless, battery-free technology, they differ in dosage (mA-min) and wear time. The right choice depends on treatment goals and skin sensitivity.

• IontoPatch STAT (80 mA-min in ~4 hours): This version delivers the standard 80 mA-min dose in the shortest time. It is ideal when a patient wants quick, efficient treatment with minimal wear time. Because the current is delivered faster, it may be less suitable for those with very sensitive skin. Best for patients who prioritize speed and convenience.
• IontoPatch 80 (80 mA-min in ~14 hours): This patch delivers the same total dose (80 mA-min) as the STAT but over a much longer period (approximately 14 hours). The lower current over extended time makes it significantly gentler on the skin, making it the preferred choice for patients with fair or sensitive skin who might otherwise experience irritation from faster-delivery patches.
• IontoPatch Extra Strength (120 mA-min in ~8 hours): This version delivers 50% more total dose (120 mA-min) than the STAT or IontoPatch 80. It is designed for cases where a clinician determines that stronger therapy is needed. It has a moderate wear time of about 8 hours and offers “more therapy in fewer treatments.”

How to Choose

• Choose STAT if you need a standard dose quickly (e.g., busy schedule, in-clinic efficiency).
• Choose IontoPatch 80 if you have sensitive skin and want the same dose with less irritation.
• Choose Extra Strength if your clinician prescribes a higher total dose for more aggressive treatment.
