The sponges can vertically wick fluid to an abdominal pad/secondary dressing, thus preventing maceration of skin and tissue (i.e. the degradation of tissues that may occur due to excessive exposure to moisture).

Dermacea Gauze Sponges also offer superior wound prepping and packing characteristics. Their open weave aids removal of dead tissue from skin surface for more complete wound preparation. They are also ideal for packing open wounds or for removing foreign matter from a wound before you apply a bandage covering.

The sponges are designed to be easy to use, and you can buy them as handy first aid accessories to treat minor cuts and abrasions that occur around the household.

In addition to their utility as wound care products, Dermacea Gauze Sponges can also be used to apply lotion to tender skin (such as babies’ faces) or even as baby wipes. The ultra soft cotton protects tender skin from abrasions and the high absorbency is ideal for wicking up surplus lotion or other fluid.
