Hydrocollator HotPacs

Hydrocollator® HotPacs are designed for use with Chattanooga’s mobile and stationary Hydrocollator® heating units and provide moist heat therapy to treat chronic injuries suffered by athletes or other individuals.

The key advantage of moist heat over dry heat is deeper tissue penetration at comparable temperatures. It also has a more rapid impact on tissue temperatures and will elicit a more vigorous response from the body’s temperature receptors. Subjectively, and possibly largely as a result of these factors, patients frequently report greater pain relief from moist heat therapy than from dry.

Hydrocollator® HotPacs come in eight different sizes, each of which is designed to fit a specific body contour.  They will provide up to 30 minutes of deep soothing moist heat for rapid pain relief and a jumpstart in the healing process. Heat therapy will normally require application of heat for periods of 20 minutes every 2 to 3 hours.

We suggest that you use your Hydrocollator® HotPacs with some type of insulation between them and your bare skin. Their temperatures can reach very high levels – approximately 160ºF in some cases – and they can cause burns if they come into contact with your bare skin. For insulation, we suggest use of the Hydrocollator® Terry Covers also available from us.

Each HotPac has brown tabs around the sides. These facilitate easy rotation when time is at a premium. They are also extremely durable – with proper maintenance, they can provide hundreds of treatments, making for an extremely cost effective therapy when measured on a per treatment basis.

HotPacs come with a one year warranty.
