Hydrocollator Foam-Filled Terry Covers

Hydrocollator® Foam-Filled Terry Covers are an alternative to Hydrocollator® All-Terry Covers that are suited for light clinical or home use. They are used to prevent direct contact between your patient’s bare skin and Hydrocollator® HotPacs or other moist heat packs. The high temperatures (of around  160 ºF) that can be reached by some moist heat packs can result in burns if they directly contact bare skin.

With these terry covers, your patients will be able to enjoy the convenience of safely having their moist heat therapy at home without the higher cost of the traditional Terry Covers. Moist heat therapy penetrates deeper into tissues than dry heat therapy and elicits a more potent response from the body’s temperature receptors. It is especially effective in treating the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis as well as muscle spasms in the neck and back.

Hydrocollator® Foam-Filled Terry Covers feature a polyurethane foam layer between two layers of terry cloth, instead of the four layers of terry cloth found in the traditional All-Terry Covers. The highly porous nature of terry cloth makes it an ideal barrier from the hot steam from the HotPac or other moist heat pack. There will be no need to replace a terry cloth cover as you would with a towel as it becomes saturated.

A Velcro based closure mechanism keeps the moist heat pack securely inside the cover and eliminates the risk of accidental unwrapping or slipping.

In addition to its traditional use with moist heat packs, your patients can also use this product to hold ice packs for the same purpose. They will prevent direct contact between the ice pack and bare skin and reduce the discomfort or potential harm that could result.

The Foam Filled Terry Covers are available with or without pockets and are washable and reusable. They come with a one year warranty.
