Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing features a highly absorbent cotton core surrounded by a perforated non adherent film that preserves the ideal balance between preserving a moist wound environment and removal of wound exudate. Can be used either in a hospital or home setting.
The Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is a sterile, convenient and versatile dressing that features a cotton core bonded on all sides with a perforated non adherent film. The film has been precision manufactured to specifications of 300 holes per square inch. These specifications have been proven to provide the perfect balance between non adherence and exudate migration.
In addition, to maximize absorbency, the core of the dressing is made from 100% USP grade cotton.
The dressing also transmits moisture vapor at a rate that helps to preserve a moist environment for the wound in order to accelerate healing.
The Telfa Adhesive Island Dressing is designed to conform around the wound and seal it on all four sides. This protects the wound from the eternal environment and reduces the risk of infection.
The non adherent film will not disrupt healing tissue. To further reduce the risk of infection, the film can be steam sterilized.
This dressing is ideal for the treatment of wounds with light drainage. It also provides a secure dressing for both central and peripheral intravenous sites.
Telfa Adhesive Island Dressings are designed to be easy to use and so can be purchased for home use as well as in a hospital setting. They can be used in lieu of band aids as they fit more comfortably and are available in larger sizes. No first aid kit or medicine cabinet should be without them.
The dressing is available in five sizes: 2″ x 3.75″, 4″ x 5″, 4″ x 8″, 4″ x 10″ and 4″ x 14″. They are sold by the box and there are 25 dressings per box, except for the 2″ x 3.75″ dressings, which are 50 per box.
