Antiseptic Isopropyl Alcohol Pads

Lernapharm Antiseptic Isopropyl Alcohol Pads are topical antiseptic skin cleansers that are useful for treating minor cuts and bruises, insect stings or bites or for preparation of the skin for surgery or an injection.You can also use these pads to clean your hands before administering an injection, if no other facilities are available. The isopropyl alcohol content  of the pads helps reduce bacteria that could otherwise cause skin infections and they air dry quickly, thus requiring no wiping. The pads are individually wrapped in water resistant packages and are also latex free. These single use pads contain a 70% mix of isopropyl alcohol, ensuring optimal antiseptic performance. This mix is optimally suited for killing micro organisms by denaturing their proteins. It dissolves the protein lipid structure. This makes it an effective destroyer of most bacteria, fungi and viruses.

Many hand sanitizers (e.g. Quik-Care Hand Sanitizer)  use a similar mix of isopropyl alcohol to water for the same reason.

Is Isopropyl Alcohol A More Effective Anti Bacterial Agent Than Ethyl Alcohol?

Studies have shown that Isopropyl Alcohol is slightly more effective at killing bacteria than ethyl alcohol, at least where the E. coli and S. aureus bacteria are concerned.
