The TenderTykes Digital Pacifier Thermometer has a familiar pacifier-style thermometer that calms the child and allows you to take a trouble free temperature reading.
Any household with young children should have a thermometer handy to take their temperatures if a virus, infection or other illness is suspected. A rising temperature is often the earliest sign of the onset of a virus and the intervention of a doctor at an early stage is frequently the best way to ensure a favorable outcome. This thermometer provides you with a means to do this with minimum disturbance to your child.
This thermometer features an orthodontic nipple – a familiar object to the child. It allows you to take her temperature without disturbing her – in fact, without having to wake her up if she is sleeping! In this way, it is much less invasive and disturbing to the child than, say, a rectal thermometer.
The thermometer indicates a high temperature (above 99.9°F) by playing a soothing lullaby, in order to keep the child calm. It will monitor her temperature at intervals of approximately 5 minutes for up to 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, it will shut off to conserve battery power. It is capable of taking an accurate temperature reading in approximately 90 seconds on average.
To help you understand whether your child’s temperature is rising or falling, the TenderTykes Digital Pacifier Thermometer features memory recall of the last temperature reading.
When not in use, you should keep the thermometer in a safe place out of your child’s reach. To clean it, rinse it in warm water with a mild soap.
