Wrist Arthritis

Wrist arthritis most frequently called osteoarthritis in which the cartilage between the bones of the wrist degenerates or is worn away over time. This results in the bones rubbing directly against each other. Risk factors for this condition are a previous injury that damages joint cartilage, or the bones and ligaments of the wrist. Another underlying cause can be rheumatoid arthritis that causes inflammation of the joints in the entire body, including the wrist. The inflammation may damage the cartilage of the wrist, leading to osteoarthritis there. Typical symptoms are  pain, stiffness and inflammation of the wrist joint, to the extent that it may become too painful for use in normal daily functions. Individuals suffering from this condition may find the use of a wrist brace useful in reducing their pain and discomfort by reducing the movement of the bones against each other.
