Patellar subluxation / tilting refers to either (a) temporary partial dislocation of the kneecap from its normal position in the trochlear groove at the end of the thigh bone or (b) the patella being situated in the middle of the groove but tilted over to one side. These conditions are usually attributable to structural abnormalities of the knee e.g. subluxation may be due to the inner thigh muscle being underdeveloped or the outer one being overdeveloped. Braces such as those below are designed to treat these two conditions. Please check with us or with your doctor to ensure your choice is right for you.
