Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome

Osgood-Schlatter Syndrome is an inflammation of the patellar ligament on the tibia (shinbone) just below the kneecap. The most noticeable sympton of the condition is a painful bump on the tibia, just below the knee. This is primarily an overuse injury that improves with rest and gets worse with activity. Sports involving extensive running and /or jumping are a risk factor as the underlying mechanism is repeated tension on the growth plate of the upper tibia.Males between the ages of 10 and 15 (growth years) are the most frequently affected demographic. The braces shown below will be helpful in addressing the symptoms and causes of this condition. Please contact your doctor for advice on the product most suited to your activity level and other circumstances.
